General Duties:
Under the general direction of the City Administrator, the position of City Clerk/Treasurer serves as city’s statutory Clerk and Treasurer. This position is responsible for: preparing the annual budget and levy, preparing the annual assessments, managing human resources, coding and maintaining accounts payable files, overseeing accounts receivable records, conducting elections, preparing liquor licenses, participating with the annual audit, supervising the operation of the Community Center and other administrative and financial duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, and two years’ relevant work experience in a municipal office in finance, administration, or other public sector work. Candidates must possess strong financial skills, demonstrate strong communication skills, possess positive organizational skills, and be able to effectively communicate and maintain positive relationships with the city council, city employees and community members.

Salary Range: $78,458 - $91,790

Volunteer Firefighters Wanted!The Montrose Fire Department is always seeking firefighters and has an open hiring process.  Interested persons must fill out a City of Montrose Employment Application and then take part in a hiring process.  Firefighting within your community is a great way to give back and support your fellow neighbors in times of crisis and is very rewarding. All training is paid for by the Montrose Fire Department and firefighters are eligible for a partial pension after 5 years (full pension after 20 years of service).  Firefighters are paid a stipend of $5 per call and $10 per training event held by the Montrose Fire Department.  Minimum qualifications include; 21 years of age or older, reside within 10 minutes driving time to the Montrose Fire Station, complete a hiring process which includes; application review, agility testing, interviews, background check and physical examination. 

We are currently in need of firefighters available during any time of the day, but additional points during the hiring process are given for those able to respond during daytime hours 8AM-4PM
