- October 4 - Great Gourds class sponsored by
the Parks & Recreation Commission. This class is designed
for
children. They will learn
about gourds, where they
come from,
and what
they're used for. Attendees will take home a completed gourd
project. Contact city hall to register.
- October 15-17 - Fall Break. No school K-12
- October 20 & 23 - Youth Wrestling Association
registration (pre-K through 6th grade) at Discovery Elementary
School, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- October 21 - Senior Fair at
Montrose Family Chiropractic. Free event for seniors that will
include blood pressure, height & weight, blood sugar checks.

- Sewer Replacement Project -
Work continues on the sewer replacement project along Center
Avenue. Click here for an update.
- Safe Routes to School - The city received
a $175K grant to extend sidewalks west on Highway 12 to 12HI
Estates and
south along Highway 25 to Rock Brook.
- Park Development Programs
- Pennies For Parks -
As a means of raising money to develop our parks, the city
is offering all residents the opportunity to “round up” their
utility bills each month. This is an optional program and will
be used strictly for park development. Click
here for more information and instructions for signing up to
participate in this program.
- Cans for Kids - Beginning July 1st the Park & Recreation
Commission will be sponsoring a trailer in the parking lot
at city hall for residents to donate their aluminum cans for
recycling with all proceeds going toward park development.
