The Montrose Economic Development Authority was formed in 1992 . This seven member commission is appointed by the City Council to foster business development in the City of Montrose. The Mission of the EDA is:
- To assist existing businesses with retention and expansion plans
- To attract new commercial and industrial businesses to the community
- To promote and encourage revitalization of commercial areas
- To encourage the expansion of the Montrose tax base
