Biographies of the Council
Roy Henry - I’m a lifelong area resident of Montrose and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Waverly. My wife and I have been married for 45 years. We have 3 children, 18 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.I ran for a seat on the Montrose City Council because I believe we needed change. Previously, I served for 6 years on the Planning and Zoning Commission. I’m active in volunteer work and helped organize the New Montrose Area Senior Citizens and the National Night Out event. I also volunteer at the Montrose Elementary School. In 2008, my wife and I received the Minneapolis Aquatennial Association Commodore’s Award for dedicated volunteer and community service. I am a union steward for the Teamsters and the Steel Workers and a former volunteer firefighter. My goal as a council member is to listen to concerns and find solutions to problems. Thank you for electing me to work for you!
