Water & Sewer
Water, sewer, garbage and recycling are billed by the city. You will need to complete an application to set up an account. Download Your Move In Packet and Application Here.
Direct pay is offered at no cost. To enroll please complete the direct pay authorization form and return to City Hall with a voided check.
- Water $5.00 per month plus $5.00/1000 gallons
- Sewer Connection $3.85 per month base charge plus $4.60 /1000 gallons
- WWTP This fee is for the waste water treatment plant. $6.05 per month base charge plus $5.05/ 1000 gallons. There is also a $3.00 per month charge for storm sewers.
Sewer fees are based on water consumption. This means when you use water it is assumed that you use sewer. When you water your lawn this can add up. You may install a second meter for outside watering so that you are charged for water only on this meter (no Sewer or WWTP charges or base rates are applied).

Purchase a "radio read" meter from the city office for $235.00
Have a plumber install the meter. **Do not make this a deduct meter** When the installation is complete contact the city office and arrange to have the meter sealed and inspected.
Following inspection, contact the utility billing clerk to have the meter added to your account as a "water only" meter.
Garbage & Recycling
Garbage is picked up on Tuesdays. All garbage must be in your container and bagged. $3.00 stickers may be purchased at the City Office for occasional extra garbage. Containers are available in the following sizes:
30-gallon container - $12 per month (plus tax)
60-gallon container - $16 per month (plus tax)
90-gallon container - $20 per month (plus tax)
Residential recycling is collected every other Tuesday. There is a $2 mandatory charge for recycling. Click here for a flier with recycling guidelines.

Tree branches, grass clippings, leaves, and garden waste may be dropped at the city compost site (at the wastewater plant on the rear tarmac area). The wastewater treatment facility is located at 800 Buffalo Avenue South (south of Highway 12 on County Road 25).

Residents in the Forest Creek development are served by Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association; call (763)477-3000 or complete the online application for service.
